Privacy model
Your archive stays yours.
VaultDog is designed around a simple boundary: observe one window you choose, save only what you see, and keep the resulting archive on your Mac.
You choose the source
macOS shows its system picker so you can select exactly one Slack window. VaultDog does not widen that selection to another app.
Capture is read-only
VaultDog does not click, scroll, open threads, send messages, or change Slack. It cannot reveal conversations you cannot already access.
Storage is local
The archive and supporting evidence are AES-GCM encrypted on your Mac. The per-device vault key is stored in macOS Keychain.
Core capture needs no token
No Slack login, API token, or workspace administrator is required for local message capture. Optional read-only Slack authorization is used only for files and custom emoji.
Local means local
VaultDog does not upload your message archive to a VaultDog cloud. Optional AI models run on-device after their initial download.
It is a personal archive
VaultDog saves content visible while capture runs. It is not a complete workspace export, a backup for your company, or a compliance archive.
